This post is about biking Mission Bay! I recently biked Mission Bay Park to soak in the ocean and residential views of San Diego. Mission Bay is famous for the jet skis and boats you’ll see along the beach. It also has grass to relax on, beaches, docks, and a walk/bike path.
Mission Bay Overview
Mission Bay Park is the largest aquatic park in the country. It consists of over 4,235 acres in roughly equal parts land and water. Mission Bay boasts 27 miles of shoreline, 19 of which are sandy beaches with eight locations designated as official swimming areas.
If you need to rent a bike, there are plenty of options nearby that specialize in renting bikes to tourists.

The path for biking Mission Bay is approximately 8 miles. There is an option to make it longer by heading towards Mission Beach on the left of the map.

Highlights from the bike ride
You’ll see small docks all along Mission Bay to hop on jet skis or boats.
As you navigate along Mission Bay Park, you will have the option to bike on the street or on the bike path. If you are aiming for speed, it is recommended that you bike on the road.
